One of my main goals for this year was to challenge myself, not only with my blog, but in life. Every opportunity to try something new and exciting would be an activity I wouldn’t hold myself back from. So when Brad, the owner of Baylinks Golf offered me a lesson I was eager to try out my skills at an indoor golf center. I come from a family of golfers, and my husband plays as much as he possibly can. But when it comes to golf I have more of a love/hate relationship with it, mostly because I find it to be quite a frustrating game. I took lessons as a kid, so I was excited to dust off the cobwebs and see if I had any skills left.
If you are new to the game, or haven’t played in a while Baylinks is the perfect spot to see what you’ve got! The facility holds 4 spacious bays, each equipped with a high definition virtual golf simulator; perfect for a lesson or private party. Brad makes sure to keep the fridge stocked and since it’s a BYOB facility, you can bring your favorite craft beer to sip while you play. I have to say my favorite part about living in this area is how BYOB-friendly it is! I’m always looking for a way to save a buck ;).
What I found to be the most appealing thing about Baylinks was how versatile it was. The perfect space for a birthday party or a night out with friends. It can hold an intimate party all the way up to a corporate event. At the end of the hallway sits the “Club Suite,” a quiet room you can book for a group, if you’re looking for some privacy. Each bay is equipped with it’s own mini fridge and flat screen TV, so if the game is on you won’t miss a beat ;). And don’t worry if you don’t own a set of clubs, because Brad carries a few sets all available to rent!
After trying out my skills on pebble beach Brad showed me a few of the other features & games available through the program he uses (which is constantly updating). If you are looking to improve a certain skill you can practice driving, chipping, or putting. There are fun games like Break The Windows (which I have to say is my absolute favorite) and even Darts. If you are looking for kid-friendly games he has a few on his roster, and mini golf is included in that as well!
The overall mood at Baylinks is calm and relaxed. It fits people of all ages, which is great for the clientele that reside in it’s suburban location. I guarantee if you visit once you’ll want to go back for more! And if you don’t believe me you can check out their great reviews on Facebook.
Now I want to hear from you guys! Are you a golfer? Would you be interested in trying out a place like Baylinks? Leave a comment below and let me know what you think 🙂
