Holiday Wreath Tutorial

As much as I would love to decorate every inch of our apartment, I realized quickly that wasn’t going to happen with A around. We didn’t have the time, money, or patience to deal with her ripping everything apart. So I’ve gone with a minimalistic approach to a lot of my decorating choices each season. We have a mantle above the fireplace in our apartment, and during the summer I have a large picture hanging above it. I needed a quick and easy idea for fall & winter, so I decided to go with a wreath. Since I’m not the most crafty mom out there, I took to pinterest for inspiration. During the fall I attached a few dried flowers to the wreath and just left it. But since Winter is my favorite season to decorate for, I decided to do something a little more bright! I took that same fall wreath and attached two pieces of berry garland around it. In total the wreath took about 10-15 minutes to make!

Materials:
Wreath
Two 5ft strands of Garland
String
Scissors
I bought my wreath from hobby lobby for about $4 at the beginning of October. The Garland was purchased from Michael’s and was originally $9.99. At the time they had a 50% off sale going on, and I used an additional coupon. The string and scissors I already had at home, and yarn can be used as well. All in this wreath cost me under $15!
Step 1
Start by mapping out your garland on your wreath. I suggest taking one piece of garland and wrapping it around the outside of the wreath.
Step 2
Attach the outside piece by tying sections of the garland to the wreath.
Step 3
Repeat steps 1&2 with your second piece of garland
Step 4
Hang and enjoy! So there you have it! A quick and easy minimalistic (pinterest approved) holiday wreath. Here is mine hanging over our mantle. Enjoy!
