Last week Tyler FINALLY had some time off. Our original plan was to spend the week by the beach, but a staycation turned out to be a better choice overall. So one day we loaded A in the car and drove out to Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA. This is the perfect spot for parents! I suggest driving there during nap time (assuming you don’t live right around the corner), and spending all afternoon roaming around. The paths are perfect for those little ones who are new to walking, and there are multiple tree houses for the bigger kids! Personally, we loved the conservatory because they had a specific area for children to explore and play. Our favorite part was the outdoor beer garden, which opens up around 5:30 pm. So you can spend all afternoon tiring those little ones out, and enjoy a beer in this relaxed open space. I don’t recommend going on the hottest day of the year, like we did, but I promise this is the perfect summer spot for families! On a non-peak day tickets run $20 a person, and kids under 4 are free. Quick note about buying tickets, they have to be purchased within the hour you are going to arrive. So if you have a smart phone, just buy them on your way. Here is a link to their website for more information: Longwood Gardens . Enjoy!
