The Amber Teething Necklace.

The first time I saw an amber teething necklace on a child I couldn’t help but feel just a tad bit concerned. Why would someone put a necklace on their small child?!?! So when A came along I refused to let anyone try and convince me of the magic powers this little pendant might have. Well, heres the thing, when your child screams for days and you’ve tried everything in sight you just say, “screw it” and buy the damn thing…at least that’s what I did! It was our last resort, and I’m glad I made the purchase. When A does wear her necklace the days are more tolerable, and for that, I am grateful.

Not quite convinced yet? Here’s what some of my friends have to say:
“I chose to buy an Amber necklace because I’ve heard such good things! Tucker woke up one morning screaming and wouldn’t stop, so I ordered one. It’s hard to say if it’s working or not BUT he hasn’t woke up screaming again, and he’s been less drooly. Not to mention it’s super cute!” -Chelsea

“Honestly, I always thought they were silly, and an old wives tale. Until I got one, as a last resort. I’m sure glad I did, and glad I was wrong. It really does work great for Logan. He’s not as fussy, not as much drool. I’m glad I was wrong, and love it now!” -Katiesmile emoticon

“I saw them for the first time when I was pregnant on Instagram, I saw another mom’s daughter wearing it and I thought it was pretty, I had no idea what they were. I planned on getting one because I had heard great things although I was still skeptical I thought, “at least it will look adorable even if it doesn’t work”. Isla had her first teeth coming in and was miserable, she was cranky, slobbery, and feverish. I ordered one off of amazon and had it delivered in 2 days. Once I put it on her she was only cranky for about a half a day before she was back to her normal self. Since then she has never been slobbery again. She has never had to wear a bib to catch slobber, rarely in a bad mood, and she has all 4 top teeth coming in with no teething signs in site.” -Areli

“Matthew was screaming for hours and nothing would console him so I figured I’d try it. He’s gotten much better. When I took it off for three days he was a monster, so it’ll stay on him until he’s 18 and not an asshole.” -Kim

“We had friends that used an amber necklace and they’re pretty popular with cloth diaper moms. We got it when he was cutting his top teeth. Honestly, I can’t say that it works miracles for us but to be fair, I always forget to put it back on after his bath.” -Kerry

“I think it helps Chloe mostly with drooling more than anything.” -Kristi

“I considered buying one because Lennon was having a rough time with her teeth. A friend offered to send us her extra one and Lennon has worn it ever since. She recently (and FINALLY) cut two teeth through. I was surprised to find the first one because she really hadn’t acted differently than she usually does, and I had anticipated a lot of crying and drooling before the tooth would show.” -Mercedez
